Teenager asks NFL star to her senior prom on Twitter… and he shows up at her house in Lamborghini because he could never go to his own prom

An 18-year-old girl scored the date of a lifetime after asking football star Joe Haden to her high school prom.

Independence High School senior Joyce Grendel was supposed to go to the dance with her friend’s cousin but he backed out at the last minute.

The Ohio teen took a chance on Twitter and asked the Cleveland Browns cornerback if he’d be her date – and he said yes.

reports the night was a memorable one for Joyce, whose date forwent the prom limo and picked her up in his Lamborghini on Friday afternoon.

The couple was pictured alongside friends posing for photos outside of Joyce’s Independence home; the football star in a grey suit that complimented her purple gown and corsage.

Joyce admitted she was shocked by the player’s reply. She told the station of her bold tweet: ‘It just said, “Hey Joe, would you consider going to my senior prom with me because my date backed out and didn’t go.”‘

‘I didn’t think that I had a chance,’ she said.

A few short hours later, Haden replied via the micro-blogging site: ‘Yes’.

‘I am nervous, too,’ he said. ‘We were taking pictures with me and her family. I feel this is very legit, like I was getting ready, “Does this look cool?” when I’m getting ready. I feel like I’m very legit. This is my prom, too.’

But it wasn’t a complete blind date – Haden explained he knew Joyce, and her friend, Lacey, had been a big fan of his for a while.

‘I knew her because she tweets me a lot, and she’s been a really good Haden Nation supporter. All my autographs, all my signings, she always shows up, and Lacey,’ he said.

The pair appeared to have had a great time, exchanging tweets later that evening.

‘”Thank you @joehaden23 for making today the best day of my life!” awwwwww i got u!’ they wrote.
